De herfst is niet de beste tijd om op een steiger te klimmen in Moskou, maar het is nog steeds veel beter dan dat in de winter doen. Tsaar Ivan wil resultaten zien en ons team zal hem bewijzen dat wij de beste bouwers van de stad zijn. Sheila Santos en Israel Cendrero vormen het spellenontwerpersduo dat bekendstaat als Llama Dice. Tot nu toe hebben ze verschillende titels uitgebracht met diverse Spaanse uitgevers (1987 Channel Tunnel, Mondrian, Smoothies), en The Red Cathedral is het eerste spel dat ze met Devir hebben gepubliceerd. Pedro Soto (Holmes, Sherlock & Mycroft, Papua) en Chema Román (El mundo de Águila Roja) hebben de grafische elementen van het spel verzorgd met een groot eerbetoon aan Ivan Bilibin, een iconische Russische kunstenaar uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw. Ondanks dat hij uit een veel latere periode komt, is zijn stempel heel herkenbaar in het spel.
The Red Cathedral is een strategisch, 'Euro'-bordspel waarin de spelers de rollen aannemen van bouwteams. Hun taak is om samen de Sint-Basiliekkathedraal in Moskou op te bouwen, zoals bevolen door Ivan de Verschrikkelijke. Echter, slechts één van hen zal de gunst van de tsaar kunnen winnen.
Tijdens het spel kunnen de spelers een van deze drie acties uitvoeren: een sectie van de kathedraal toewijzen, resources naar die sectie sturen om hem te bouwen, of naar het spelbord gaan om meer resources te verkrijgen. Elke van deze acties heeft zijn eigen mechanisme en vereist dat de spelers goed opletten op wat de andere spelers doen.
Wanneer de secties van de kathedraal zijn toegewezen, nemen de spelers bezit van de ruimtes in elke kolom die hun sectie vormen. Hoe meer secties gebouwd en hoe meer elk met zijn eigen toren voltooid, hoe meer punten de speler aan het einde van het spel krijgt.
De spelers kunnen resources sturen naar de kathedraal secties die ze hebben opgeëist. Wanneer ze elke van die secties voltooien, zullen ze beloningen krijgen in geld en prestige punten. Ze zullen ook decoraties kunnen installeren op de voltooide secties om nog meer erkenning van de tsaar te verkrijgen. Dit deel van het spel fungeert ook als een klok, aangezien zodra een speler de bouw van zijn zesde sectie voltooit, het spel eindigt.
Het spelbord toont ons de iconische rondel van The Red Cathedral. Het is de plek waar de spelers alle resourcetypes verkrijgen die nodig zijn om hun werk aan de kathedraal te voltooien, evenals gunsten van de gilden en professionals om het meeste uit hun reis naar de markt te halen. In de centrale rondel kiezen de spelers de dobbelsteen die ze willen gebruiken en bewegen ze vooruit zoveel velden als getoond op de bovenkant van die dobbelsteen, om de resources te verkrijgen die aangegeven zijn in de ruimte bepaald door de dobbelsteen.

Return Shipping Costs
Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. We do not provide pre-paid return labels.

If your return shipment is accepted, we will give instructions on how to send the package. Products sent back to us without prior approval are not accepted. Keep in mind that the shipping times can be longer if you live outside the Netherlands.

Damage and Problems
Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt and contact us straight away if the item is faulty, damaged or if you have received the incorrect item so we can assess and rectify the problem.

Swap
The fastest way to ensure you receive the correct item is to return the item you have. Once your return is accepted, you can make a separate purchase for the new item.
3-day cooling-off period for the European Union
Notwithstanding the above, if merchandise is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 3 days for any reason and without giving any reason. As stated above, your item must be in the same condition as you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will send you a message once we have received and inspected your return to let you know if your refund has been approved. If your return is approved, your original payment method will be automatically credited within 10 business days. Please note that it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post your refund.
